In Grade 11, I was never the kid who could sit still. While my classmates were focused on assignments, I was staring out the window, thinking about something bigger. I didn’t know exactly what that “bigger” was, but I knew I wanted to build something of my own—something that gave me purpose and freedom.
That mindset naturally led me to my first car—a 2016 Volkswagen Golf. It wasn’t just a way to get from A to B; it was my project, my pride and joy. I loved modifying it, detailing it, making it look and feel brand new. There was no better feeling than stepping back and admiring my freshly detailed car, knowing every inch of it was spotless.
People started to notice. Friends and family would ask, “Nolan, how is your car always so clean?”
At first, I’d just laugh it off, but then they started asking if I could clean their cars too. I didn’t mind—I genuinely loved the process. Before long, word spread, and I started getting messages from people I didn’t even know. It was a slow transition, but without realizing it, I had stumbled into something bigger than just a hobby.
"Hey Nolan, can you clean my car too?"
I started charging a small fee, testing different products, refining my process, and learning through trial and error. To me, it wasn’t about the money. I don’t care if I made just enough money to cover my gas and my chemicals; I genuinely enjoyed cleaning other people’s vehicles.
To be honest, some days it felt like I had no idea what I was doing. Other days, I felt like I was onto something real; like I was lighting the spark into my biggest life experience to date.
It was just my Golf, my tools, my chemicals, and my endless drive to serve other’s vehicles the same way I would my own.
Over the course of a few months, my list of clients kept growing. Family, family friends, friends of those friends… and the list kept going. Although this was only my weekend gig at the time, my schedule was packed from the moment I left school on Friday, to Sunday night before I speed ran my homework.
With how things were going, I knew this was something I had to expand. If I was doing this well without a name, let alone a proper structure, I wonder what it would be like if we took things more seriously… and so I did.
On October 21st 2021, Distinct Detailz came to life

Through our years of experience, getting to meet hundreds of amazing client, we realized one crucial error in the detailing market: Lack of Consistency.
We have encountered many competitor businesses who have started, operated, and closed within our time, simply because they failed to offer a stellar experience. They thought that “Good Enough” was just that… good enough.
Here at Distinct Detailz, we don’t believe that to be true. Not even for a second.
Just like we would taken care of our own vehicles, especially my beloved Volkswagen Golf, we operate each and every day with believing: “You only deserve the BEST.”
Our goal for the future is to continue to innovate on the experience you deserve when having your vehicle serviced. Whether it be with us, or another Automotive Detailing company, we want you to understand that you DESERVE the best service possible.
For us, it isn’t going above and beyond. It’s the standard. It’s what you deserve now, and forever!

Over the years, Distinct Detailz has grown far beyond what I had first imagined. We went from operating out of my Golf to upgrading to a fully outfitted Ford Transit Connect—equipped with a water tank, generator, and everything needed to take this business to the next level.
Looking back, what started as a restless kid in a classroom dreaming of something bigger turned into a full-fledged business that I pour everything into. And the journey is just getting started.
We need to thank you, for the bottom of our hearts. Even if you just took the time to read our story, we know you will be hearing more about us as time goes on.
